Why "Welcome Home" blog?
To be an inspiration and encouragement to women of all ages who are motivated to make our homes/rooms warm, cozy, inviting and happy.

Inspiration. I hope to inspire you as you "nest". Maybe the ideas and pictures posted will inspire some creative energy for you.

Encouragement. You can make your house a warm, cozy & inviting place. Let's journey together!

Motivated. Let's face it, with all we do, it can be hard to stay motivated in decorating our homes and updating them. If we share our decorating ideas, we might get some of that motivation!

My hope is that you won't go out and buy more stuff for your home, but use what you already have to make a cozy, inviting place for your family and friends.

If you know me, you know how truthful that statement is. I've been teased for years about how often I move furniture around and change things. Today I came across this quote in Mary Englebreit's, "Home Companion" magazine and I thought she was writing about me:
"She then moved the master bedroom downstairs to what used to be the family room, which is now where the dining room used to be. Confused? Don't try to figure it out --I'll probably redo the whole house in a month or two."
Like Mary Englebreit, my syndrome ("obsessive-compulsive-decorating disorder") appeared early in my life. By the time I was in 3rd grade I was re-arranging my bedroom. Of course I was re-arranging the furniture in my sister's dollhouse long before (and after) that. Getting my Home Companion magazine today was awesome....I am not alone! There are others like me. Are you one of us?
